Dear Family,
Well, transfers happened and I'm still in the same area. Elder Allen left to Kamas to be with my old companion and I received Elder Medeiros from Hawaii! He's a good Elder and likes to work hard so I'm glad to be with him.
We got in the door last night of a fundamentalist who wants to serve a mission. He is praying about Thomas S. Monson and hopefully things work out well. It seems like he has a sincere desire but we need to teach more before that can be determined. We also had a lot of lessons this past week and taught more than we have before which has been nice. We are teaching this one girl who likes to learn. During one lesson, she was being really quiet and said she was going through some hard things, and she brought out that she was upset because her friend had died unexpectedly and wanted to know where she was. We read Alma 40 together and that made her feel a lot better and we're looking forward to teaching her about the Plan of Salvation! The only problem is the dad. He's not too fond of mormons and doesn't want her to be baptized so we'll be trying to work with him as well.
Thanks for all the support from home. It really makes a difference during the mission.
Love y'all
Elder Parks
